2025 WDF World Cup – Day One

It’s always tough for the American youths in these events, as they don’t have the opportunity to compete regularly against quality opposition. Despite a fantastic effort, Tim Welcome and Jeremy Demers failed to safely negotiate their round robin group in the Open Pairs. At least they have the experience behind them as they head into the other youth events this week.

In the girls’ singles, Alexis Achgill met a fate similar to the boys, as she was unable to make it to the knockout stages. However, a superb series of displays saw Nalanie Tirrell win her group with a superior leg advantage after a three-way tie. In the last 16, Nalanie was up against the Finn, Iida Lanko. It wasn’t to be, but seeing that Iida not only went on to reach the final, but has the top overall average in the singles, it certainly was a stellar performance by Nalanie.
